Come celebrate at the Official Baltimore Release Show of Sprit Plots' new album "Exit Acts." They are joining the stage with Baltimore music veterans Lushfarm, as well as Folded Coast.
Formed in 2014, as a means to bring David “Irish Dave” Johnston’s expansive assortment of home-recorded demos to life, Spirit Plots continue the journey with the follow up to their self-titled debut LP, Exit Acts. The album was recorded over a weekend at Treehouse Studio in Washington, D.C.–Engineered and mixed by Devin Ocampo (The Effects, Faraquet, Beauty Pill, Medications). Throughout a sequence of enjoyably brief tunes (only 2 songs clock in over the 3 minute mark) the spry trio revel in lively sound bursts, spirited rhythmic twists and tasty fun hooks all while capturing the kinesthetic magic between the off-kilter drums of Sammy Ponzar, the sometimes-angular/sometimes-melodic guitar lines of Javier Diaz and the steady yet creative basslines of David Johnston, whose sing-speak vocals tend to bury any hint of deep meaning under a veil of dated references, and seemingly throwaway non sequiturs.
